Washington, DC, prepares for Capital Pride, with assorted screenings, marches, parades, and festivals, to be held from May 30-June 10.

Hundreds of gays and their family members and allies, gathered in Virginia’s capital city of Richmond for PrideFest 2011. Among the featured entertainers were Washington DC based singer Tom Goss and internationally celebrated singer Martha Wash of "It’s Raining Men" fame. EDGE was there to enjoy some southern LGBT hospitality and capture photos of the festivities.

The weather was hot and humid and then cool and wet, but it didn’t matter to the folks that came downtown to celebrate. With an entertainment line up that cumulated with legendary Jennifer Holiday on the main stage there was plenty for everyone to njoy all day long.

After the 2011 Capital Pride Parade was over, EDGE headed to Town Danceboutique to join in the fun. Seems we weren’t the only ones with this idea as the place was PACKED! For those of you who couldn’t get in, here are photos of all the action!

The 34th Annual Capital Pride Festival was held on Pennsylvania Avenue at the base of Capitol Hill this past weekend. The sunny day brought out everyone who wanted to party and celebrate. EDGE got these great, pride photos!
