Home Is Where the Art Is: Washington Design Center’s 2012 Dream Home
WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Washington Design Center’s 2012 Dream Home event features eight top up-and coming interior designers. They took their inspiration from the emerging craft artists who are represented in the Smithsonian American Art Museum/Renwick Gallery’s 40 under 40 exhibition.
Scott Cooke of Scott Cooke Design was among those chosen to design a room for the 2012 Dream Home. Cooke’s goal for his living room was that it should be "art driven" and the room to be a venue for original artwork.
Cooke appointed ArtSPACE Management LLC to curate the artwork. The artwork was generously provided by Craig Cahoon, Cross-MacKenzie Gallery (Tati Kaupp) and Eve Stockton.
Over 400 guests attended the very lively March 15, 2012 opening. The designers displayed their unique talents and the beautiful furnishings were provided by the Washington Design Center’s showrooms.
